How to Draw a Cherry Tree

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a cherry tree in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top lobe.

Print

  1. Step 1: Top lobe

Above the middle of your paper draw a round ball of soft bumps, as big as your fist.

  2. Step 2: Two side lobes

Tucked behind the big lobe, a little lower, draw a smaller ball of bumps on each side.

  3. Step 3: Trunk

Start under the leaves, left of the middle. Draw a line down to a root, stopping near the bottom. Repeat.

  4. Step 4: Branches

From each trunk line draw 2 lines up into a side lobe. Rub out the trunk line between them.

  5. Step 5: Leafy hills

Inside the big lobe draw 3 hill bumps sloping down from the left edge, and 3 more from the right.

  6. Step 6: Cherries

Hang 4 pairs of cherries in the leaves, each pair 2 little circles side by side.

  7. Step 7: Stems and leaves

Draw a stem up from each cherry so each pair meets in a V. Add a leaf at the top.

  8. Step 8: Ground and grass

Draw a long ground line under the trunk from left to right. Add a few short grass blades.

  9. Step 9: Green leaves

Colour all 3 lobes and the tiny leaves green, right up to the bumpy edges, going round the cherries.

  10. Step 10: Wood trunk

Colour the trunk and the branches wood brown, stopping at the leaves.

  11. Step 11: Red cherries

Colour every cherry red. Go over your lines and your cherry tree is done!
