How to Draw a Miniature Pinscher

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a miniature pinscher in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

In the middle draw a big egg head, wide on top and narrow at the chin.

Tip Leave lots of room above for the tall ears.

  2. Step 2: Big pointed ears

On each top corner draw a very tall ear standing up to a soft point. Add an upside-down V inside.

Tip A miniature pinscher is a tiny dog with huge ears.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

High on the head draw 2 eggy eyes, a gap apart. Add big black dots with tiny shines.

  4. Step 4: Snout and nose

From the chin draw an upside-down U under the eyes, back to the chin. Add a black nose.

  5. Step 5: Smile and tongue

From the nose draw a short line down to a w smile. Hang a small U tongue from the middle.

  6. Step 6: The small body

From under each cheek draw a C down for a small slim body. Join them with a sagging line.

Tip Keep the body narrower than the head.

  7. Step 7: The chest patch

Under the chin draw 1 sagging curve. Start on the left side of the body and stop on the right.

  8. Step 8: Front legs

From the chest curve draw 2 slim legs down to the ground. Add a paw line and 2 toes each.

  9. Step 9: Back paws and tail

Draw a little hill paw at each bottom corner. On the right add a short stubby tail poking up.

  10. Step 10: Eyebrow spots and ground

Draw a small oval eyebrow spot above each eye. Then draw a ground line under all 4 paws.

  11. Step 11: Pink tongue

Go over your lines. Colour the tongue pink.

  12. Step 12: Ginger markings

Colour the snout, eyebrow spots, ear insides, chest patch and all 4 paws ginger.

Tip These rusty patches on a black coat are how you spot a miniature pinscher.

  13. Step 13: Colour the fur black

Colour the rest of the head, ears, body, legs and tail black, around the ginger patches. Keep the eyes white.
