How to Draw a Millipede
Draw a millipede in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
On the left of your paper, near the middle, draw a small egg lying on its side.
Tip A millipede is a long train of little segments.
Step 2: Short feelers
Start on top of the head. Draw a short curve leaning out and stop. Add a ball on the end.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 big egg eyes. Add a black dot and a shine.
Step 4: A small smile
Under the eyes draw a small open smile: a short flat line with a U under it.
Step 5: A long body
From the head, draw a long fat tube going right, round the tail end and back to the head.
Step 6: Lots of rings
Across the body draw 12 little curved lines, evenly spaced from the head to the tail.
Step 7: Lots of little legs
Draw a ground line. Then draw 6 comma legs, one under each front section, down to the line.
Tip The legs are short, like a row of commas.
Step 8: More little legs
Keep going to the tail with 6 more comma legs, each one stopping on the ground line.
Step 9: Yellow legs
Colour all the little legs yellow.
Step 10: Feelers and cheeks
Colour the feeler balls yellow too. Colour 2 round pink cheeks under the eyes.
Step 11: Brown millipede
Colour the head and body ginger brown around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white and colour the mouth red.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a millipede, drawn by you.
