How to Draw a Microphone

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a microphone in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Round head

Start low on the left. Draw a big ball up and over, down the right. Stop before closing.

Tip Leave the bottom of the ball open: the collar goes there.

  2. Step 2: Collar ring

Under the open bottom draw a short wide band, a bit wider than the ball, with sagging edges.

  3. Step 3: Grip handle

Start on the bottom of the collar. Draw a long handle down, round a U grip, up to the collar.

  4. Step 4: Eyes and cheeks

Below the middle of the ball draw 2 big round eyes with black dots. Add an oval cheek under each.

  5. Step 5: Singing mouth

Under the eyes draw a flat line, then a big U hanging from its ends. Add a little tongue inside.

Tip A singing mouth is wide open, nearly down to the collar.

  6. Step 6: Mesh lines across

Near the top of the ball draw 3 curved lines across from edge to edge, above the eyes.

  7. Step 7: Mesh lines down

From the top of the ball draw 4 curves down, 2 each side, stopping on the lowest across line.

  8. Step 8: Switch

On the handle, under the collar, draw a tall rounded pill with a dot in its top half.

  9. Step 9: Music notes

Right of the mouth draw a small slanted oval with a stick and a curly flag. Add a smaller one.

  10. Step 10: Ground and curly cord

Draw a ground line across the page. Add a cord from the handle with 3 loops, ending on the ground.

  11. Step 11: Yellow and pink

Colour the switch and the 2 music notes yellow. Colour the cheeks and the tongue pink.

  12. Step 12: Grey head

Colour the ball light grey around the eyes, cheeks and mouth. Leave the eyes and a shine white.

  13. Step 13: Red handle, dark collar

Colour the handle red around the switch, and the collar dark grey. Colour the mouth black around the tongue.
