How to Draw a Nightstand
Draw a nightstand in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the box.
Step 1: The box
A little below the middle draw a big soft box, wider than tall. Leave room above for a lamp.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the box draw 2 big round eyes a finger apart. Colour a black dot in each, with a shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile. Add a little oval cheek under the outside of each eye.
Step 4: Drawer and handle
Draw a second box just inside the first, around the face, with a short handle bar near its bottom.
Step 5: The top plank
Draw a thin plank on top, a bit wider than the box on both sides.
Step 6: Short legs
Under each end of the box draw a short square leg.
Step 7: The lamp shade
Above the box draw a lamp shade: short line on top, 2 sides slanting out, long line across the bottom.
Step 8: Stem and base
Under the middle of the shade draw a short thin stem down to a small round base on the plank.
Step 9: The floor
Draw a floor line from the left edge to the right edge, just touching the bottom of the legs.
Step 10: Tan drawer, pink cheeks
Colour the drawer tan around the face and handle, then the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Yellow lamp
Colour the lamp shade yellow and the stem and base grey.
Step 12: Wood nightstand
Colour the box, top, legs and handle wood brown, around the drawer. Your nightstand is ready for bedtime!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a nightstand, drawn by you.
