How to Draw a Slide Whistle
Draw a slide whistle in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tube.
Step 1: The tube
Draw a long thin box slanting down from top left to bottom right, with rounded corners.
Tip Leave room at both ends for the mouthpiece and the slide.
Step 2: The mouthpiece
On the top left end draw a short box, a little thinner than the tube, with a rounded end.
Step 3: The window
On the tube, close to the mouthpiece, draw a small box with rounded corners for the sound window.
Step 4: The end cap
Near the bottom right end, draw a line across the tube from edge to edge.
Step 5: The slide rod
From the middle of the bottom right end, draw a long thin rod carrying on in the same direction.
Step 6: The ring
At the end of the rod draw a circle. Draw a smaller circle inside it for the hole.
Step 7: Music notes
Draw 2 music notes, one top right and one bottom left: an oval, a line up and a flag.
Step 8: Red tube
Go over your lines. Colour the tube red, around the window, as far as the end cap line.
Step 9: Yellow parts
Colour the mouthpiece, the end cap, the rod and the ring yellow. Leave the hole in the ring.
Step 10: Black window, blue notes
Colour the window black and the round note heads blue. Wheee-oop!
