How to Draw a Mexico Map
Draw a mexico map in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top edge.
Step 1: The top edge
Start near the top left. Draw right, slant down, go right, then step up and right. Stop near the middle.
Tip Mexico is a big country just south of the USA.
Step 2: The river edge
Carry on from there. Draw a line slanting down to the right, with one big dip. Stop at the sea.
Tip This edge follows a long river called the Rio Grande.
Step 3: The gulf coast
Carry on from there. Draw the coast down, then curve round to the right like a big hook.
Step 4: The thumb
Carry on from the hook. Draw up, across to the right and back down, making a fat thumb.
Tip This thumb of land is called Yucatán.
Step 5: The bottom edge
Carry on from the thumb. Draw left, zigzag down, then go straight down. Stop there.
Step 6: The south coast
Carry on from there. Draw a small bump, then a long line slanting up and left. Stop at a point.
Step 7: The west coast
Carry on from the point. Draw a long bumpy coast up to the left. Stop under the top edge.
Step 8: The long finger
From there, draw a long thin finger: down to a round tip, then back up to your very first start.
Tip This finger of land is called Baja California.
Step 9: The mountains
Inside the land, draw 3 little triangle mountains in a row slanting down to the right.
Step 10: The capital
Low down in the land, right of the mountains, draw a small circle for the capital, Mexico City.
Step 11: Green land
Go over your lines. Colour all the land green, around the mountains and the little circle.
Step 12: Brown and red
Colour the 3 mountains brown and the capital red. Your map of Mexico is done!
