How to Draw a Meerkat
Draw a meerkat in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: narrow head.
Step 1: Narrow head
Near the top, draw a head a little taller than wide, widest in the middle, with a smaller round chin.
Step 2: Ears and snout
Halfway down each side, draw a small half-circle ear. Low on the face, draw an oval snout and black nose.
Step 3: Eye patches and eyes
Draw 2 round eye patches, an eye in each. From the nose, draw a line down to a w smile.
Step 4: Whiskers
On each side, draw 2 short whiskers from the edge of the snout out toward the cheek.
Step 5: Tall slim body
Under the cheeks, draw a tall slim body, taller than the head, with a flat bottom.
Step 6: Left arm and paw
From the left side of the body, draw an arm sloping down to a plump paw on the tummy.
Step 7: Right arm and paw
Do the right arm the same way, ending in a paw next to the left one. Add 2 toe lines.
Step 8: Ground and feet
Draw a ground line under the body. At each bottom corner, draw a plump bun foot. Add toe lines.
Step 9: Thin tail
Behind the right foot, draw a thin tail along the ground, curling up. Add a line across near the tip.
Step 10: Tan fur, cream tummy
Colour the head, arms, feet and tail tan, around the eye patches. Colour the tummy and snout cream.
Step 11: Brown patches
Colour the eye patches, ears and tail tip brown. Leave the eyes white. Go over your lines.
