How to Draw a Matryoshka
Draw a matryoshka in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big doll.
Step 1: The big doll
On the left draw the big doll: a round head, a tucked-in neck, then a big fat egg body.
Tip A nesting doll is a head and an egg in one smooth line.
Step 2: A round face
Inside the head draw a round face, a finger in from the head line. The rest is the scarf.
Step 3: Eyes and a smile
In the face draw 2 black eyes, each with a little white shine. Under them draw a U smile.
Step 4: Apron and flower
Draw a big oval apron on the tummy. In it draw a flower: a circle with 5 round petals.
Step 5: The middle doll
To the right draw the same shape again, smaller: a round head, a little neck and a fat egg body.
Step 6: Its face and apron
Give it a round face, 2 shiny black eyes, a U smile, and an oval apron with a flower.
Step 7: The little doll
On the right draw the smallest doll, the same shape again but tiny, standing on the same ground.
Step 8: Tiny face and apron
Give it a small round face, 2 shiny black eyes, a U smile, and a small apron with a flower.
Step 9: The ground
Draw the ground: one straight line under all 3 dolls, from the left edge to the right.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Colour 2 round pink cheeks on each face, under the eyes, and the flower middles pink.
Step 11: Cream and green
Colour the faces and aprons cream around the cheeks and flowers. Colour the petals green.
Step 12: Red dolls
Go over your lines, then colour all 3 dolls red around the faces and aprons. They are done!
