How to Draw a Barcode

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a barcode in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tag.

Print

  1. Step 1: The tag

In the middle of your paper draw a wide tag, round corners on the left, pointed on the right.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

Low on the tag, left of middle, draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.

  4. Step 4: Thin bars

Across the top half of the tag draw 10 tall thin black bars, the same height, with gaps between.

  5. Step 5: Fat bars

Now fill the gaps with fatter black bars, some thicker than others, so it looks like a barcode.

  6. Step 6: Little numbers

Under the bars draw tiny dots like little numbers: 4 on the left and 4 on the right.

  7. Step 7: Hole and string

Draw a small hole near the point. Start a string inside it, curving out and up, stopping in the air.

  8. Step 8: Ground and sparkles

Draw a ground line under the tag from far left to far right, and a sparkle star on each side.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles

Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.

  10. Step 10: Cream tag

Colour the tag cream around the face and the black bars. Leave the eyes and the hole white.
