How to Draw a Masquerade Mask
Draw a masquerade mask in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the mask.
Step 1: The mask
Across the middle draw a wide mask with a dip on top and sharp tips sweeping up each side.
Tip The tips sweep UP at the sides like cat eyes, with a dip underneath.
Step 2: Two eye holes
Inside the mask draw a big sideways oval eye hole each side, leaving a thick band round them.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Peeking through each hole draw a big egg eye, with a black dot and a white shine in it.
Step 4: A gem
Between the eye holes draw a small diamond gem, pointed at the top and bottom.
Step 5: Swirls
In each pointy corner of the mask, beside the eye hole, draw a little curl like a snail shell.
Tip Stop before you meet your own line.
Step 6: The stick
From the mask's right tip draw a thin stick slanting down to the bottom right, ending in a knob.
Step 7: Feathers
Above the mask's left side draw 3 soft feathers with bumpy edges, leaning left, straight up and right.
Tip Leave a little gap between each feather and the mask for its quill.
Step 8: Quills
Down the middle of each feather draw a quill. Start near the tip and stop on the mask.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw a little 4-point sparkle above the mask, one at the top right and one at the lower left.
Step 10: Yellow gem and knob
Colour the gem and the knob on the end of the stick yellow.
Step 11: Teal feathers, wood stick
Colour the 3 feathers teal and the stick wood brown.
Step 12: Purple mask
Colour the mask purple around the gem. Leave the eye holes and eyes white. Ready for the ball!
