How to Draw a Flood
Draw a flood in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flood water.
Step 1: The flood water
Below the middle, draw a long wavy line. Start at the left edge and stop at the right edge.
Tip Everything else stands in this water, so no line goes below it.
Step 2: House walls
Start on the water, left of the middle. Draw a wall up, across and down. Stop on the water.
Step 3: The roof
On top of the walls draw a big triangle roof, poking out a little past both sides.
Step 4: The chimney
Start on the roof's right slope. Draw a small box chimney up and back down. Stop on the roof.
Step 5: A door in water
Start on the water. Draw the top of a door: up, across and down. Stop on the water.
Step 6: A window
Right of the door, just above the water, draw a square window with a plus sign inside.
Step 7: A tree
On the right draw a bumpy round treetop. Start under it, draw 2 short trunk lines, stop on the water.
Step 8: The rain cloud
Across the top draw a long puffy cloud: 5 bumps over the top and 3 flat bumps underneath.
Step 9: Falling rain
In the empty sky under the cloud, draw 9 short slanting rain lines. Keep them off the house and tree.
Step 10: Ripples
In the water draw 3 little ripples, each like 2 small smiles joined together.
Step 11: Yellow walls
Go over your lines. Colour the walls yellow, around the door and the window.
Step 12: Light blue water
Colour all the flood water light blue, down to the bottom and out to the sides. Colour the window too.
Step 13: Green and red
Colour the treetop green. Colour the roof and the chimney red.
Step 14: Brown and grey
Colour the door and the trunk brown, and the rain cloud dark grey. Your flood is done!
