How to Draw a Nebula
Draw a nebula in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: cloud top.
Step 1: Cloud top
In the middle, start low on the left. Draw 5 round bumps over and down to the right.
Step 2: Cloud bottom
Start where the bumps ended. Draw 3 shallow bumps hanging down and across to the left, back to the start.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Below the middle of the cloud, draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots with shines.
Step 4: Big smile
Under the eyes, draw a wide U smile from eye to eye, ends turning up.
Step 5: Glow oval
Around the eyes and smile, draw a wide oval for the glow, not touching the bumps.
Step 6: Stars inside
Inside the cloud but outside the oval, draw 3 little five-point stars.
Step 7: Stars around
Out in space around the cloud, draw 4 more little stars, one near each corner.
Step 8: Shooting star
In the top left corner, draw a little star zooming along, with 2 speed lines trailing behind it.
Step 9: Yellow stars
Colour all the stars yellow, inside the cloud and out in space.
Step 10: Pink glow, purple gas
Colour the oval pink. Colour the cloud purple around the oval and the stars. Leave the eyes white.
