How to Draw a Marmoset

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a marmoset in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big round head

Near the top draw a big round head, a little wider than tall. It is half of the whole marmoset.

  2. Step 2: White ear tufts

On each side of the head draw a big fan of 5 fluffy bumps sticking out, like a powder puff.

Tip The big white ear tufts are the marmoset's badge.

  3. Step 3: Heart face and eyes

Draw a wide heart in the head, bumps on top. In each bump put a big eye with a dot.

  4. Step 4: Nose and smile

On the face dot 2 tiny nostrils. Under them draw a wide U smile from eye to eye.

  5. Step 5: Egg body

Start under the left cheek. Draw an egg body down and round, up to the right cheek. Add a tummy.

Tip The body is narrower than the head.

  6. Step 6: Two arms

From under each cheek draw an arm down beside the body, ending in a round mitten hand.

Tip Thin at the wrist. Rub out the body line inside each arm and hand.

  7. Step 7: Two feet

From the bottom of the body draw a leg down to a bun foot, and back up. Do both sides.

  8. Step 8: Curly tail

From behind the right leg draw a tail out and up into a question-mark curl, and back to the leg.

Tip Thick at the leg, thin at the round tip.

  9. Step 9: Hair tuft

On top of the head draw 3 soft round hair bumps, from the head line back to the head line.

Tip Rub out the head line under the bumps.

  10. Step 10: The branch

Draw a branch under the feet: 2 wavy lines from one edge of the paper to the other.

Tip Add 2 short bark lines on the branch.

  11. Step 11: Cream face and hands

Colour the face, tummy, hands, legs and feet cream. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Grey fur, brown branch

Colour the fur light grey around the cream parts, leaving the ear tufts white. Colour the branch brown.
