How to Draw Maracas
Draw maracas in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: front maraca head.
Step 1: Front maraca head
Above the middle of your paper, left of centre, draw a big egg leaning left, as big as your fist.
Step 2: Handle and knob
From the bottom of the egg draw 2 close lines slanting down right for the handle. Add a round knob.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the upper middle of the egg draw 2 big round eyes. Add a big black dot and a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile. Add a little oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The maraca behind
Draw a second egg up on the right, leaning the other way, peeking out behind. Add a handle crossing behind.
Step 6: Painted stripes
Low on each egg draw 2 curved stripes like little smiles. Add one more high on the back egg.
Step 7: Ground and notes
Draw a ground line under the knobs. Draw a music note out on each side.
Step 8: Yellow egg and stripes
Colour the stripes on the front egg yellow. Colour the back egg yellow too, but not its stripes.
Step 9: Wood handles, pink cheeks
Colour the handles and knobs wood brown. Colour the cheeks and the notes pink.
Step 10: Red egg and stripes
Colour the back stripes and the front egg red, around its stripes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Shake, shake!
