How to Draw a Play Kitchen Set

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a play kitchen set in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cupboard.

Print

  1. Step 1: The cupboard

In the bottom half of your page, draw a big wide box. Draw a long floor line under it.

Tip Make the box about twice as wide as it is tall.

  2. Step 2: The worktop

On top of the box, draw a flat slab that slants in a little at each end.

Tip The slab pokes out a little past the box on both sides.

  3. Step 3: The back board

Start at the left end of the slab. Draw up, over in a big rainbow, down to the right end.

  4. Step 4: Oven door

On the left half of the box, draw a door with soft corners. Draw a wide window inside it.

Tip Leave room above the door for the knobs.

  5. Step 5: Cupboard door

Draw a line down the middle of the box. On the right half, draw a big square door.

  6. Step 6: Knobs and handles

Above the oven door, draw 3 round knobs. Add a long oven handle and a short cupboard handle.

  7. Step 7: Two hob rings

On the left half of the worktop, draw 2 flat ovals side by side.

Tip Round rings look like flat ovals when you see them from the side.

  8. Step 8: Sink and tap

On the right of the worktop, draw a long flat oval. Behind it, draw a tap like a walking stick.

Tip The tap stands on the back edge of the worktop.

  9. Step 9: A toy pan

Above the left ring, draw a pan with slanted sides, a line near the top and a long handle.

Tip A toy pan has no steam, because toy food is never hot!

  10. Step 10: A big heart

In the middle of the back board, draw one big heart.

  11. Step 11: Yellow and cream

Colour the back board yellow, around the heart, tap and pan. Colour the worktop cream, around the rings and sink.

  12. Step 12: Pink cupboard

Colour the box pink, around the 2 doors and the 3 knobs. Leave the doors white.

  13. Step 13: Red and grey

Colour the heart, the 2 rings and the 3 knobs red. Colour the tap and both handles grey.

  14. Step 14: Blue to finish

Go over your lines. Colour the pan, the oven window and the water in the sink blue.
