How to Draw a Manta Ray
Draw a manta ray in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big soft kite.
Step 1: The big soft kite
Draw a big wide soft kite with pointy wing tips and a soft point below.
Tip No sharp corners: soft bends, but pointy wing tips.
Step 2: Head horns
At the front of the head draw 2 horn fins sticking up, each round tip curling in towards the middle.
Tip These horns are really fins that guide food into the mouth.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Near the top of the body draw 2 big egg eyes, a gap between. Add black dots with shines.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Start under the left eye. Draw a wide U smile, stopping under the right eye. Add cheeks at the ends.
Step 5: Thin tail
From the bottom point draw a short thin tail straight down, 2 lines meeting at a thin round tip.
Tip No thorn on a manta.
Step 6: Spots on the wings
On each wing, away from the eyes and edges, draw 3 little circles of different sizes.
Step 7: Bubbles
Draw 3 little bubbles in a slanted line going up from the right horn, the biggest at the bottom.
Step 8: Sea floor
Under the tail draw a long gently wavy sea floor line, from the left edge across to the right edge.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, sandy floor
Colour the two cheeks pink and the floor under the wavy line sandy.
Step 10: Colour it navy
Colour the whole body, wings, horns and tail navy blue, around the pink cheeks, leaving the eyes and spots white.
