How to Draw an Igloo

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw an igloo in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the dome.

Print

  1. Step 1: The dome

Below the middle, start on the left. Draw a big round dome over and down, stopping level with the start.

Tip The dome is much wider than it is tall.

  2. Step 2: The tunnel

Start on the ground by the dome. Draw an arched tunnel up and over. Add a smaller arch inside.

  3. Step 3: The ground

Draw the ground line under the dome, going behind the tunnel, out to the edges of the paper.

  4. Step 4: Block rows

Start on the left of the dome. Draw a curved line across to the right. Add 2 more rows above.

  5. Step 5: Snow blocks

Between the rows draw short up-and-down lines to make blocks, staggered like bricks. Leave the top as one block.

  6. Step 6: A penguin

To the right, draw a small egg penguin standing on the ground. Add 2 flippers and 2 feet.

  7. Step 7: Tummy and face

Inside the penguin draw a big tummy egg. Near its top add 2 dot eyes with shines and a beak.

  8. Step 8: Orange beak and feet

Colour the penguin's beak and feet orange. Leave the igloo white.

  9. Step 9: Dark tunnel, blue snow

Colour inside the tunnel grey. Colour the snow under the ground line sky blue, around the feet, to the edges.

  10. Step 10: Black and white penguin

Colour the penguin and its flippers black, around the white tummy. Go over your lines. Done!
