How to Draw a Maned Wolf
Draw a maned wolf in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big head.
Step 1: Big head
Near the top left, draw a big egg head, wide at the top with a soft round chin.
Tip Leave room above for tall ears and below for very long legs.
Step 2: Tall ears
On each top corner of the head, draw a tall pointy ear with a triangle inside. Make the left smaller.
Step 3: Big eyes
Halfway down the head, a little to the left, draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.
Step 4: Long snout
Under the eyes, draw a long teardrop snout poking past the chin. Add a black nose and a w smile.
Tip Rub out the head line inside the snout.
Step 5: Shaggy mane
Start beside the eyes. Draw 4 soft bumps down the neck, then curve back underneath to the head.
Tip The mane is a long patch of dark fur on the neck.
Step 6: The back
Start at the end of the mane. Draw along the back and round the bottom. Stop a little way down.
Step 7: Front leg
Draw a ground line. From under the cheek, draw a long leg down to a plump paw, then back up.
Tip The leg gets thinner near the paw.
Step 8: Tummy and back leg
From the front leg draw the tummy. Then a round thigh down to a paw and up to the bottom.
Tip The back leg bends halfway down.
Step 9: Far legs
Under the tummy draw 2 more long legs peeking out, each one down to a small paw.
Tip Only part of each far leg shows. All 4 paws sit on the ground.
Step 10: Long socks
Halfway down each leg, draw a short curved line across it, from one side to the other.
Tip A maned wolf looks like it is wearing long dark socks.
Step 11: Toes
On each big paw draw 2 short curved toe lines. Draw 1 on each small paw.
Step 12: Bushy tail
Behind the bottom, draw a fat tail hanging down to a soft point. Add a curve across near the tip.
Tip The tail is fattest in the middle.
Step 13: Orange coat
Colour the coat orange, down to the sock lines. Leave the eyes, ear middles, snout, mane and tail tip white.
Step 14: Dark grey parts
Colour the snout, the mane and the 4 long socks dark grey. Your maned wolf is done!
