How to Draw a Snail
Draw a snail in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
On the left of your paper, below the middle, draw a soft round blob for the head.
Tip Leave the right side empty for the big shell.
Step 2: Eye stalks
On top of the head draw 2 tall stalks with a ball on each, like lollipops. Add black dots.
Step 3: Smile
Start near the front of the head, below the middle. Draw a wide smile back, stopping under the back stalk.
Step 4: The shell
To the right of the head, leaving a small gap, draw one huge round shell.
Tip Make it the biggest thing on the paper.
Step 5: The foot
Start under the front of the head. Draw a long flat foot along the ground, ending in a soft point.
Step 6: The spiral
Start in the middle of the shell. Draw a spiral round and round, wider each time, out to the edge.
Tip Go round about 2 times.
Step 7: The ground
Start in front of the head. Draw a ground line under the foot, past the tail.
Step 8: Pink cheek
Go over your lines. Dab a small pink cheek on the head, just above the end of the smile.
Step 9: Tan body
Colour the head, stalks and foot tan, around the pink cheek. Leave the eyeballs white.
Step 10: Orange shell
Colour the whole shell orange. Your snail is done!
