How to Draw a Duck in Rain Boots
Draw a duck in rain boots in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round head.
Step 1: Round head
Near the top right of your paper draw a round head, a little wider than tall.
Tip Leave room on the left for the body and below for the boots.
Step 2: Flat bill
On the right of the head draw a wide flat bill with a round end. Add a smile line.
Tip Flat like a spoon, not a pointy beak.
Step 3: Big eye
Above the bill draw a big oval eye. Colour a big black dot in it and leave a white shine.
Step 4: Neck and body
From the back of the head draw the back, a pointy tail, a round tummy and the chest.
Tip The body is like a fat boat, bigger than the head. Finish under the chin.
Step 5: Folded wing
On the side of the body draw a leaf wing with its point towards the tail. Add 2 feather lines.
Step 6: Two short legs
Under the tummy draw 2 short thin legs, a wide gap apart.
Tip Each leg is 2 short lines.
Step 7: Rain boots
On each leg draw a tall boot: flat top, straight sides, a round toe pointing right and a flat bottom.
Tip Make the boots big, much wider than the legs.
Step 8: Cuffs and soles
On each boot draw a line across near the top and a line along the bottom.
Step 9: Puddle
Around the bottom of the boots draw a long flat puddle, much wider than both boots.
Tip The puddle's back edge hides behind the boots.
Step 10: Splash
At each end of the puddle draw 2 fat drops flying up and out, and 1 small drop above them.
Step 11: Raindrops
Draw 3 raindrops falling around the duck, pointy ends up.
Step 12: Yellow and sand
Colour both boots yellow and the wing sand. Leave the rest of the duck white.
Step 13: Orange and pink
Colour the bill and both legs orange. Add a pink cheek under the eye.
Step 14: Blue water
Go over your lines. Colour the puddle and all 9 drops blue.
