How to Draw a Man
Draw a man in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 eyebrows, 2 oval eyes with dots and shines, a tiny nose and a smile.
Step 3: Ears
Draw a round C ear on each side of the head, starting and stopping on the head.
Step 4: Short hair
Start above the left ear. Draw low soft tufts over the head, down to the right ear. Add a hairline.
Tip Keep the tufts low: this is neat, short hair.
Step 5: Neck and shirt
Draw 2 short neck lines. From the left one, draw a shirt with short sleeves, stopping at the right one.
Step 6: Collar and tie
Draw 2 collar triangles meeting at the neck. Add a small knot under them and a long pointed tie.
Step 7: Arms
From under each sleeve, draw 2 lines down, bending softly at the elbow and stopping at the narrower wrist.
Step 8: Mitten hands
From one side of each wrist, draw a round mitten with a thumb pointing in. Stop at the other side.
Step 9: Trousers
Start at the bottom left of the shirt. Draw 2 long trouser legs and stop at the bottom right.
Tip Long legs, nearly to the page bottom, a bit narrower at the ankles.
Step 10: Shoes
Under each leg, draw a shoe with the toe pointing out: a round heel, flat sole, longer round toe.
Step 11: Belt and ground
Draw a belt across the top of the trousers with a square buckle. Add a ground line under the shoes.
Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink, then the face, ears, neck, arms and hands peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Blue shirt, red tie
Colour the shirt blue, leaving the collar white, and the knot and tie red.
Step 14: Brown trousers, black hair
Colour the trousers and buckle brown, and the hair and shoes black. Your man is done!
