How to Draw a Gymnast
Draw a gymnast in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room above the head for the arms to reach up.
Step 2: The face
Below the middle draw 2 round eyes, each with a lash flick. Add a U nose, a smile and eyebrows.
Step 3: Hair and bun
Start at the left eyebrow. Draw hair over the top, down to the right eyebrow. Add a fringe and bun.
Step 4: Neck and leotard
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a swimsuit-shaped leotard with no sleeves, back to the right one.
Step 5: Arms up
From each shoulder draw 2 lines up and out in a V, getting thinner, and stop beside the head.
Step 6: Open hands
Start at each wrist. Draw an egg mitten with a thumb bump on the head side, back to the wrist.
Step 7: Legs
From each leg hole draw 2 lines down to a thin ankle, curving softly at the knee.
Step 8: Feet
At each ankle draw a foot with the toes pointing out and a flat bottom.
Step 9: The beam
Under the feet draw a long thin bar with 2 short legs slanting out. Add a ground line.
Step 10: Sparkles
Draw a sparkle star on each side of the gymnast: 4 points joined with curves that dip in.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, peach skin
Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour all the skin peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Yellow stars, tan beam
Colour the stars yellow. Colour the beam and its legs tan.
Step 13: Purple leotard, brown hair
Colour the leotard purple and the hair and bun brown. Go over your lines and your gymnast is done!
