How to Draw a Lucky Horseshoe

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a lucky horseshoe in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the outer u.

Print

  1. Step 1: The outer U

Start high on the right. Draw a big U down, round and up to the same height on the left.

  2. Step 2: The inner U

Inside it, draw a smaller U a thumb in. Start and stop a little lower than the first U's ends.

  3. Step 3: Flat ends

Close the band: draw a short straight line across each end, from the outer U across to the inner U.

  4. Step 4: Left nail holes

On the left half of the band, draw 3 small ovals spaced out along it for the nail holes.

  5. Step 5: Right nail holes

Do the same on the right half: 3 more small ovals along the band.

  6. Step 6: The ground

Draw a gently curved ground line under the horseshoe from well left to well right, touching its bottom.

  7. Step 7: Four-leaf clover

Right of the horseshoe, draw 4 little hearts meeting in the middle, with a stem down to the ground.

Tip Leave a gap between the clover and the horseshoe.

  8. Step 8: Two sparkles

Draw a sparkle star high on each side of the horseshoe, like a plus sign with curvy dips.

  9. Step 9: Grey horseshoe

Go over your lines, then colour the band of the horseshoe stone grey, leaving the nail holes white.

  10. Step 10: Green clover, yellow sparkles

Colour the clover leaves leaf green and the sparkles yellow.
