How to Draw Long Hair
Draw long hair in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw a big egg head, round at the top and narrower at the chin.
Tip Make it big: the hair needs room on top.
Step 2: Big eyes
Below the middle of the head, draw 2 big round eyes, one eye apart. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 3: Nose and smile
Between the eyes draw a tiny U nose. Draw a wide smile from eye to eye.
Step 4: Eyebrows
Above each eye, draw a little rainbow for an eyebrow, as wide as the eye.
Step 5: Fringe
Start on the head's left side, level with the eyebrows. Curve up and across to the right side.
Step 6: Top of the hair
Start at the fringe's left end. Draw a big rainbow out past the head, down to the right end.
Tip The hair is bigger than the head: it puffs out.
Step 7: Long flowing sides
On each side, start high on the rainbow, flow the hair past the chin, then back up to the fringe.
Step 8: Wavy strands
Inside each side, draw 2 long gentle curves, one a bit lower, from about halfway down to near the bottom.
Step 9: Neck and shirt
Draw 2 neck lines under the chin, 2 shoulders, and a line along the bottom. Add a U collar.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face and neck peach, with a pink oval on each cheek. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Yellow hair, purple shirt
Colour the hair yellow and the shirt purple. Go over your lines and you're done.
