How to Draw a Log Truck

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a log truck in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: nose, cab and frame.

Print

  1. Step 1: Nose, cab and frame

Start low on the left. Draw a stubby nose, short hood and tall cab, then stop low on the right.

Tip The frame behind the cab is a thin flat shelf for the trailer.

  2. Step 2: Belly and tyres

Start where you stopped. Draw 2 rainbow arches and stop at the nose. Put a fat tyre under each arch.

Tip Leave a little air between each arch and its tyre.

  3. Step 3: Eye, smile, bumper

On the hood, draw a big round headlight eye. Add a U smile under it, a cheek and a bumper.

  4. Step 4: Deck and stakes

Behind the cab, draw a long flat deck, like a thin plank. Stand a tall thin post at each end.

Tip The posts stand a little lower than the cab roof.

  5. Step 5: Windows and pillar

Start inside the windscreen. Draw a window inside the cab, back to the start. Add a pillar down the middle.

  6. Step 6: Trailer tyre

Under the back of the deck, draw a low flat mudguard. Add a fat tyre under it, like the others.

  7. Step 7: Three big logs

Stack 3 long logs on the deck, poking out the back. Give each a round end with a ring.

  8. Step 8: Exhaust and handle

Start on the frame behind the cab. Draw a thin chimney up and back to it. Add a door handle.

  9. Step 9: Road and shine

Draw a straight road line under all 3 tyres, from bumper to deck. Add a shine in the windscreen.

  10. Step 10: Yellow light, blue windows

Colour the headlight yellow and the windows sky blue. Leave the shine white.

  11. Step 11: Pink cheek, grey parts

Colour the cheek pink. Colour the deck, posts, stack, handle, bumper, mudguard and hubs grey.

  12. Step 12: Tan ends, green cab

Colour the log ends tan. Colour the cab green, going around the windows, headlight, cheek and handle.

  13. Step 13: Brown logs, black tyres

Go over your lines. Colour the logs brown around the tan ends, and the tyres black around the hubs.
