How to Draw a Hay Baler
Draw a hay baler in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: baler box.
Step 1: Baler box
Draw a big wide box in the middle. Near the top, draw a lid line from side to side.
Tip A baler is towed behind a tractor: no cab, no driver.
Step 2: Round face
On the left half of the box, draw a big circle, leaving a gap under the lid line.
Step 3: Eyes and smile
In the circle, draw 2 round eyes, each with a big dot and a tiny shine. Add a smile.
Step 4: Pickup drum
Under the front corner of the box, draw a round drum tucked behind it. Add 3 spokes and 4 spikes.
Tip The drum spins and rakes the straw up into the box.
Step 5: Big wheel
Under the back of the box, draw 1 big wheel with a hub, as low as the drum.
Step 6: Hitch bar
From the front of the box, draw a fat bar slanting down to the left. Stop past the drum.
Step 7: Bale ramp
From the back of the box, draw a ramp sloping down like a slide. Stop as low as the wheel.
Step 8: Square bale
On the ramp, draw a tilted square bale sliding out. Add 2 string lines across it.
Step 9: Ground and straw
Draw a ground line from edge to edge, touching the wheel, the drum and the ramp. Add 3 straw tufts.
Step 10: Yellow bale, pink cheeks
Colour the bale and the drum yellow and 2 pink cheeks. Leave the face and eyes white.
Step 11: Green baler
Colour the box, the hitch and the ramp green, going around the face and the bale.
Step 12: Grey wheel
Colour the big wheel grey. Go over your lines. Your hay baler is ready!
