How to Draw a Junk Boat
Draw a junk boat in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hull.
Step 1: The hull
Below the middle, draw a long boat with a pointy front and round bottom. Add a line under the deck.
Step 2: The mast
Start on the deck, left of the middle. Draw a tall thin post up high. Put a ball on top.
Step 3: Big fan sail
Start on the mast under the ball. Draw a fan out left and down to the deck. Add 4 lines.
Tip The sail is stiff, so use straight lines. Its bottom sits right on the deck.
Step 4: Little front sail
Near the front, draw a shorter mast. Add a smaller fan sail leaning forward, with 2 lines across.
Step 5: The flag
Start on the mast under the ball. Draw a short pointy flag out left and curve back to the mast.
Step 6: Portholes
Near the front, under the rim, draw 3 round portholes in a row.
Step 7: Waves
Draw wave bumps almost edge to edge across the boat's bottom. Below, add a second row of 6 bigger bumps.
Step 8: The sun
In the top right corner, draw a circle with 8 short rays all around.
Step 9: Yellow sun, tan sails
Colour the sun yellow and both sails tan.
Step 10: Blue sea, red hull
Colour the sea blue, all the way to the bottom. Colour the boat and the flag red.
Step 11: Brown masts
Colour both masts and the ball brown.
