How to Draw a Drone
Draw a drone in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
In the middle, draw 1 chunky rounded box lying down, wider than tall, with big soft corners.
Tip Make it a third as wide as the paper. Leave room all round.
Step 2: Big eyes
In the body, draw 2 big round eyes a small gap apart, each with a black dot and shine.
Step 3: Smile
Under the eyes, draw a wide U smile from under the left eye to under the right eye.
Step 4: Two near arms
From each upper side, draw a thick arm out and a little up, with a round pod at the end.
Tip Both arms are the same length, like a wide open V.
Step 5: Two rotor blades
On top of each pod, draw a long flat blade lying across it, a little longer than the arm.
Step 6: Two far arms
From each top corner of the body, draw a shorter arm up and out, with a smaller pod and blade.
Tip A drone has 4 arms. The far 2 look smaller because they're further away.
Step 7: Legs and feet
Under the body, draw 2 short thick legs leaning out like an A. Put a flat foot bar under each.
Step 8: Camera ball
Under the middle of the body, between the legs, draw a small round camera ball.
Step 9: Clouds
Draw 2 small puffy clouds, one high left and one low right: 3 hill bumps over a flat line.
Step 10: Yellow body, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the body yellow, going round the eyes. Add a little pink cheek under each eye.
Step 11: Grey arms and legs
Colour all 4 arms, the 2 legs and the feet grey.
Step 12: Slate rotors and camera
Colour the 4 rotor blades, the 4 pods and the camera ball a darker slate grey.
