How to Draw a Living Room

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a living room in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the sofa back.

Print

  1. Step 1: The sofa back

In the middle draw a tall soft box with round top corners, about as wide as your hand.

  2. Step 2: Two arms

On each side draw a tall arm: start half way down the back, hump out, go down to the bottom.

Tip The arms stick out past the back like big round bumpers.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

On the back, above its middle, draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Draw a small flat cheek beside each end.

  5. Step 5: Two cushions

Between the arms draw 2 soft rectangles side by side for the seat cushions, with a tiny gap between them.

  6. Step 6: The base

Under the cushions draw a long flat band from arm to arm.

  7. Step 7: Feet and floor

Under the base draw 2 short square feet, one near each end. Draw a floor line under them.

  8. Step 8: A floor lamp

On the right draw a flat foot. From it draw a thin post, stopping above the arm. Add a lampshade.

  9. Step 9: A picture

Above the left arm draw a square picture frame with a square inside. Draw a hill and sun inside.

  10. Step 10: A rug

Between the sofa's feet draw a long flat oval rug across the floor line.

  11. Step 11: Pink cheeks, yellow lamp

Colour the cheeks pink, and the lampshade and the picture's sun yellow.

  12. Step 12: Light blue and brown

Colour the cushions and sky around the sun light blue, then the lamp post, foot, sofa feet and frame brown.

  13. Step 13: Blue sofa

Go over your lines, then colour the sofa blue around the cushions and cheeks, leaving the eyes white.

  14. Step 14: Red rug, green hill

Colour the rug red and the little hill green. Your living room is ready for a sit!
