How to Draw a Leash
Draw a leash in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the handle.
Step 1: The handle
At the top left draw a big round loop with a point at the bottom right, like a water drop.
Tip This is the loop your hand goes through.
Step 2: The hand hole
Inside the loop draw a smaller drop the same shape. Keep the band the same width all round.
Step 3: The strap
From the point of the handle draw a wide strap. Swoop it right, then curl back to the middle.
Tip Draw the strap with 2 lines, always the same distance apart.
Step 4: More strap
Keep the strap going to the left, round a bend, and back to the middle of the bottom.
Step 5: Stitches
Near each end of the strap draw 2 lines across it, like a box. Put a cross in each.
Step 6: The ring
On the end of the strap draw a ring: a circle with a smaller circle inside it.
Step 7: The clip
Right of the ring draw a tiny box, then a long sausage shape with round ends.
Tip The clip is what snaps onto a dog's collar.
Step 8: Clip slot and knob
Inside the clip draw a long thin slot. On top of the clip draw a small knob.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 3 sparkle stars in the empty spaces around the leash.
Step 10: Gold clip
Go over your lines. Colour the ring, the clip and the sparkles yellow. Leave the holes white.
Step 11: Red leash
Colour the handle and the whole strap red. Leave the hand hole white.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a leash, drawn by you.
