How to Draw a Bone
Draw a bone in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the shaft.
Step 1: The shaft
Start a hand in from the left edge. Draw a line across to the right. Add another a finger lower.
Tip Long and straight, right across the middle.
Step 2: Left knobs
Start at the top left end. Swing up in a bump, dip in, round another bump, stop at the bottom.
Tip 2 bumps and a notch, like the end of a dog's bone.
Step 3: Right knobs
Do the same at the right end: from the top line, a bump, another bump, stop at the bottom.
Step 4: Shines
On the top knob at each end draw one short curved shine line near the top.
Step 5: A flat shadow
Under the bone draw a long flat oval, from past the left knob to past the right knob.
Tip The knobs hide the top of the oval.
Step 6: The floor
Draw a floor line from the left edge to the shadow, then from the shadow on to the right edge.
Step 7: Sparkles
Draw 4 sparkle stars in the corners, each like a plus sign with curvy dips.
Step 8: Colour the bone
Colour the whole bone sand, the knobs and the shaft.
Step 9: Yellow stars
Colour the sparkle stars yellow.
Step 10: Grey shadow
Colour the shadow under the bone grey. Go over your lines and your bone is done!
