How to Draw a Lavender Field
Draw a lavender field in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the horizon.
Step 1: The horizon
Just above the middle, draw a long flat line from edge to edge: the far edge of the field.
Step 2: The middle row
From the bottom middle, draw a tall bumpy wedge up to a thin rounded tip on the horizon.
Tip The bumps are lavender bushes. The row and its bumps get smaller as they go away.
Step 3: Two more rows
Draw the same bumpy wedge on each side of the middle row, leaning in to the horizon, with ground between.
Step 4: The outside rows
Draw one more bumpy wedge at each edge, leaning in the same way, so 5 rows fan in like spokes.
Step 5: A barn
On the right, start on the horizon. Draw a barn wall up, over a rounded roof, down to the horizon.
Tip Give it a square door with a cross on it.
Step 6: A silo
Beside the barn, start on the horizon. Draw a tall tower up and down to the horizon, domed on top.
Step 7: A tree
On the left, start on the horizon. Draw 2 short trunk lines up, then a lumpy top that joins them.
Step 8: Sun and birds
In the top middle, draw a round sun with 8 short rays. Add 2 flying birds, each a flat M.
Step 9: Yellow sun, grey silo
Go over your lines. Colour the sun yellow and the silo grey.
Step 10: Green ground
Colour the ground green between the rows, from the horizon to the bottom. Colour the tree top green too.
Step 11: Purple lavender
Colour all 5 rows purple, right into every bump.
Step 12: Red barn, brown trunk
Colour the barn red, leaving its door white, and the tree trunk brown. Your lavender field is done!
