How to Draw a Snowflake
Draw a snowflake in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hexagon.
Step 1: The hexagon
In the middle, draw a hexagon as big as an apple: pointy top and bottom, straight up-and-down sides.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the hexagon, draw 2 big eyes close together. Add a black dot and shine.
Step 3: A big smile
Under the eyes, draw a wide U smile from under the left eye across to under the right eye.
Step 4: Three arms
From the top corner, draw a straight arm up, a finger long, and stop. Do the 2 bottom corners too.
Tip The 3 arms make an upside-down Y.
Step 5: Three more arms
From each of the other 3 corners, draw the same straight arm out, stopping at the same length.
Tip Now 6 arms go round like the spokes of a wheel.
Step 6: Diamond tips
On the end of every arm, draw a small diamond, like a little ice crystal.
Step 7: V branches
Near the tip of each arm, draw a V on the arm, point towards the tip, like an arrow head.
Step 8: More V branches
Halfway along each arm draw a second V the same way, so every arm has two little branches.
Step 9: Sparkles
In the 4 gaps beside the top and bottom arms, draw a tiny 4-point star sparkle.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Colour a rosy pink cheek under the outside of each eye, beside the smile.
Step 11: Sky blue middle
Colour the hexagon sky blue around the eyes, smile and cheeks. Colour the tips and sparkles sky blue too.
Tip Leave the eyes white. Go over your lines and your snowflake is done!
