How to Draw a Lantana
Draw a lantana in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flower head.
Step 1: The flower head
Near the top of your paper draw a big round ball of small soft bumps, as big as an orange.
Tip Keep the bumps small and even so the ball stays round.
Step 2: The middle flower
In the middle of the ball draw 1 little flower: 4 round bumps in a ring, with a dot inside.
Step 3: Four flowers round it
Draw 4 more the same size round it: top, right, bottom and left, each with a dot.
Step 4: Fill the gaps
Draw 4 more little flowers in the gaps between them. Now a ring of 8 goes round the middle one.
Tip A lantana head is lots of tiny flowers packed into one ball.
Step 5: The stem
Start under the ball. Draw 2 lines down side by side, bowing a little right, stopping near the bottom.
Step 6: Two leaves
Halfway down the stem draw a long pointed leaf going left, with a bumpy edge. Match it on the right.
Step 7: Leaf veins
Start at the stem and draw a line along the middle of each leaf, stopping short of the tip.
Step 8: Side veins
From each middle vein draw 4 short lines slanting toward the tip, 2 on each side.
Step 9: Ground and grass
Draw a ground line from near the left edge to near the right. Add 2 grass blades each side.
Step 10: Yellow middle
Go over your lines. Colour the middle flower yellow, and the dot in each of the other 8.
Step 11: Orange ring
Colour the 8 flowers round it orange, around their yellow dots. Colour the middle dot orange too.
Step 12: Pink ball
Colour the rest of the ball pink, right into every bump, around all the little flowers.
Step 13: Green stem and leaves
Colour the stem and both leaves green. Your lantana is done!
