How to Draw a Rosemary
Draw a rosemary in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pot rim.
Step 1: The pot rim
Below the middle draw a flat wide band for the rim of the pot.
Step 2: The pot
Start at the rim's left end. Slope down and in, across the bottom, and up to the right end.
Step 3: The middle stem
From the middle of the rim draw a thin stem straight up, getting narrower to the top.
Step 4: Two side stems
From the rim draw a thin stem leaning out on each side, a little shorter than the middle one.
Step 5: Lower middle leaves
Partway up the middle stem draw 3 pairs of thin pointy leaves, each pair like a V.
Tip Rosemary leaves are thin like needles. Leave the bottom of the stem bare.
Step 6: Upper middle leaves
Draw 2 more pairs up the middle stem, a bit shorter each time. Stand 1 leaf on the tip.
Step 7: Lower side leaves
On each side stem draw 2 pairs of thin pointy leaves, pointing up and out.
Tip Keep the leaves from bumping into the middle ones.
Step 8: Upper side leaves
Draw 2 more pairs up each side stem. Stand 1 leaf on each tip.
Step 9: The ground
Draw a long ground line from the left, behind the pot, to the right.
Step 10: Brown stems
Go over your lines. Colour the 3 thin stems light brown.
Step 11: Green leaves
Colour all the thin leaves green.
Step 12: Orange pot
Colour the pot and its rim orange. Your rosemary is done!
