How to Draw a Lacrosse Player

Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave the page below for the body and legs, and room on the right for the stick.

Step 2: The face

In the middle of the head draw 2 oval eyes with a black dot. Add a smile lower down.

Step 3: Helmet

Draw a round helmet over the head, an ear flap down each side and a curved edge above the eyes.

Step 4: Face mask

From one ear flap draw a U band round the chin to the other. Add a bar across the face.

Tip Keep the bar between the eyes and the smile.

Step 5: Neck and jersey

Draw 2 neck lines. Draw the jersey shoulders, then its sides and hem. Each starts and stops at the elbows.

Step 6: Long sleeves

Start at each elbow, draw 2 lines down that get closer together, and stop at the wrist.

Step 7: Big gloves

Over each wrist draw a big glove with a wide cuff, a line across it and a thumb bump.

Tip Lacrosse gloves are big and padded.

Step 8: Lacrosse stick

Start in the right glove. Draw a long stick slanting up and out. On top draw a rounded triangle head.

Tip The head is narrow at the stick and wide at the top.

Step 9: Net and ball

Draw a round ball in the stick head. Add 4 crossing net lines, from edge to edge.

Step 10: Shorts

Start at the bottom left of the jersey. Draw the shorts down, across, up to a point, down and back.

Step 11: Legs and cleats

From each shorts leg draw 2 lines down to the ankle. Add a cleat under each and a ground line.

Step 12: Peach skin, grey mask

Colour the face, neck and legs peach. Colour the mask grey. Leave the eyes white.

Step 13: Yellow gloves, tan stick

Colour the gloves and the ball yellow and the stick tan. Leave the net white.

Step 14: Red jersey, navy helmet

Colour the jersey and sleeves red. Colour the helmet, shorts and cleats navy. Go over your lines.
