How to Draw a Chibi Ninja

Step 1: Big round head

Near the top draw a big wide egg for the hooded head. Make it almost half the page tall.

Tip A chibi head is as tall as the whole body.

Step 2: Mask opening

Across the middle of the head draw a wide slot with round ends, for the eyes to peek out.

Tip Dip the top of the slot a little in the middle.

Step 3: Huge eyes

Inside the slot draw 2 tall oval eyes. Fill each with a big black oval, leaving 2 white shines.

Tip Leave a gap one eye wide between the eyes.

Step 4: Headband

Above the slot draw 2 curved lines across the head, from the left edge to the right edge.

Step 5: Knot and tails

On the right end of the headband draw a small oval knot. Add 2 pointed tails flying out.

Tip The tails start at the knot and get wider.

Step 6: Tiny body

Under the head draw a small body, a little wider at the bottom.

Tip The body is much smaller than the head.

Step 7: Wrap and sash

Draw a crossed V under the chin for the wrap. Draw 2 curved lines across the tummy for a sash.

Step 8: Short arms

From each shoulder draw a short sleeve reaching down and out. End it in a round hand with a thumb.

Tip Empty hands: this ninja is friendly.

Step 9: Legs and shoes

Under the body draw 2 short baggy legs. Add a round shoe under each, toes pointing out.

Tip The legs get narrower at the ankle.

Step 10: Ground line

Start left of the shoes and draw a ground line under both, stopping past the right shoe.

Step 11: Peach and pink

Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face around them and both hands peach. Leave the eyes white.

Step 12: Red headband

Colour the headband, the knot, its 2 tails and the sash red.

Step 13: Blue suit

Colour the hood, the body, the sleeves and the legs blue, around the red parts.

Step 14: Dark shoes

Colour the shoes dark blue. Your chibi ninja is done!
