How to Draw a Knitting Basket
Draw a knitting basket in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the basket.
Step 1: The basket
Below the middle draw a wide basket: a box a bit narrower at the bottom, sitting on the ground.
Step 2: The big yarn ball
Draw a big ball poking up out of the basket. Add 2 yarn curves on top, 1 down each side.
Tip Stop the ball and the side curves at the rim.
Step 3: The face
On the ball draw 2 big egg eyes with black dots. Add a wide U smile and 2 cheeks.
Step 4: Two more balls
Beside it draw a medium ball and a small ball, each a little behind the last, with curved yarn lines.
Step 5: The needles
Behind the balls draw 2 long thin needles poking up in a V, each with a round knob on top.
Step 6: The scarf
Over the front left of the basket draw a half-knitted scarf hanging from the rim, with 2 lines across it.
Step 7: The weave
Right of the scarf draw 3 lines from the rim down to the bottom, and 2 across to the side.
Step 8: Ground line
Start a little in from the left edge. Draw a ground line across under it, stopping before the right edge.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 3 little 4-point sparkles around the basket to make it shine.
Step 10: Yellow and pink
Go over your lines. Colour the small ball and the sparkles yellow, and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Grey needles, red ball
Colour the needles grey. Colour the big ball red around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Blue ball, red scarf
Colour the medium ball blue and the scarf red.
Step 13: Wood basket
Colour the basket wood brown around the scarf. Your knitting basket is done!
