How to Draw a Box Kite
Draw a box kite in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top box.
Step 1: The top box
Draw a tilted box near the top. Add a wide V under it, with a line up from its point.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
On the front of the top box draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek beside each eye.
Step 4: The bottom box
A little way below, draw the same box, V and line again, right under the first.
Step 5: The sticks
Start at the 4 corners of the open end. Draw a stick down from each, stopping at the box below.
Step 6: The string
Start at the bottom left corner of the lower box. Draw a curving string away to the bottom left.
Step 7: Wind marks
On the left draw 3 short curved lines, one above the other, for the wind.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw 3 little sparkle stars around the kite, not touching it.
Step 9: Yellow sides, sparkles
Go over your lines. Colour the side panels and the sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, orange ends
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour inside each open end orange.
Step 11: Red front panels
Colour the front of both boxes red, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
