How to Draw a Spinning Wheel
Draw a spinning wheel in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big wheel.
Step 1: The big wheel
On the right of your paper draw a big circle, as wide as your hand. Draw a smaller circle inside.
Tip Leave room under the wheel and on the left.
Step 2: Hub and spokes
In the middle draw a small circle. From it draw 8 spokes out to the inner circle, like pizza slices.
Step 3: Bench and legs
Under the wheel draw a long flat plank. Under each end draw a tall thin leg, then a ground line.
Step 4: Upright and axle
From the bottom of the wheel draw 2 close lines down to the bench. Put a dot in the hub.
Step 5: The bobbin
On the left of the bench draw a short post. On top draw a small box on its side.
Step 6: Drive band
Start at the bobbin's right corners. Draw a line from each up to the wheel, round its far side.
Step 7: Foot pedal
Draw a flat pedal on the ground. From its right end run a rod to a knob on the wheel.
Step 8: Post and wool
Far left, draw a tall post topped with a wool cloud. Add a thread from the wool to the bobbin.
Step 9: Cream wool and bobbin
Colour the wool and the bobbin cream.
Step 10: Wood posts and pedal
Colour the upright, the bobbin post, the pedal, the knob and the tall post light wood.
Step 11: Brown wheel and bench
Colour the rim around the knob, the hub, the bench and both legs brown. Your spinning wheel is done!
