How to Draw a Domino Run
Draw a domino run in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a standing tile.
Step 1: A standing tile
Just right of the middle of your paper draw a tall tile with round corners, twice as tall as wide.
Tip Leave lots of room on both sides for the others.
Step 2: One tipping over
On its left draw the same tile tipping, so its top corner just touches the first tile.
Step 3: One leaning more
Left again, draw a tile leaning further, with its top corner resting on the tipping tile.
Step 4: The falling tile
Draw one more tile on the far left, leaning the most, with its top corner on the tile before.
Tip Keep every tile the same size, just turned.
Step 5: The line bends
Right of the standing tile draw another standing tile, a little higher up the paper.
Step 6: Two more behind
Draw 2 more tiles, each higher and tucked behind the one before, so the line curves away.
Step 7: Middle lines
Draw a line across the middle of every tile, from one long side to the other.
Step 8: Dots near you
On the 4 tiles on the left draw big round dots: 1 or 2 in each half.
Step 9: Dots far away
Draw dots on the last 3 tiles too, above and below each middle line.
Step 10: The table edge
High behind the tiles draw a straight line across the paper. Stop at the tiles in the way.
Step 11: Cream tiles
Colour every tile cream, going around the dots.
Step 12: Brown table
Go over your lines, then colour the table brown from the line down to the bottom.
Step 13: Black dots
Colour all the dots black. Your domino run is toppling!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a domino run, drawn by you.
