12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a kinara in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long holder.

Print

  1. Step 1: Long holder

Below the middle of your paper draw one long thin box, almost as wide as the page.

Tip This is the wooden holder the candles stand in.

  2. Step 2: The foot

Under the middle of the holder draw a short wide foot, a little wider at the bottom.

  3. Step 3: Seven cups

On top of the holder draw 7 small cups in a row, evenly spaced, one right in the middle.

Tip Make each cup a little wider at the top.

  4. Step 4: Middle candle

In the middle cup draw a tall thin candle: a narrow box standing up, a finger wide.

Tip The middle candle stands a little higher than the others.

  5. Step 5: Three left candles

In the 3 cups on the left draw 3 more candles, each a little shorter than the middle one.

  6. Step 6: Three right candles

Do the same on the right: 3 candles in the right cups, matching the left side.

  7. Step 7: Seven flames

On top of every candle draw a little teardrop flame, point up.

  8. Step 8: The ground

Start out on the left. Draw one long straight ground line under the foot and stop out on the right.

  9. Step 9: Sparkles

Draw a sparkle star up on each side of the candles.

  10. Step 10: Yellow and orange

Go over your lines. Colour the sparkles yellow and all the flames orange.

  11. Step 11: Red and green candles

Colour the 3 candles on the left red and the 3 candles on the right green.

  12. Step 12: Brown holder, black candle

Colour the holder, the cups and the foot brown, and the tall middle candle black. Your kinara is glowing!
