How to Draw an Archer
Draw an archer in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and ears.
Step 1: Head and ears
Left of the middle draw an egg head. Add a C ear each side, starting and stopping on it.
Tip Start near the top, and leave room on the right for a tall bow.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 big eyes in the middle with dots and shines. Add a U nose and a smile.
Step 3: Cap and feather
Across the forehead draw a curved brim with pointed ends. Add a soft pointed cap on top and a feather.
Step 4: Neck and tunic
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a long tunic with round shoulders, ending at the right one.
Step 5: Resting arm
From the left shoulder draw 2 sleeve lines down to the wrist, getting closer. Add a mitten hand.
Tip Let the arm bend a little at the elbow.
Step 6: Bow arm
From the right shoulder draw a sleeve out to the side, bent at the elbow. Stop at a round fist.
Tip The fist is closed because it is holding the bow.
Step 7: The bow
Draw a tall thin crescent through the fist, tips pointing left. Join the tips with a straight string.
Tip The bow is nearly as tall as the archer.
Step 8: Quiver of arrows
Behind the left shoulder draw the top of a quiver. Add 2 arrow feathers sticking out of it.
Tip A quiver is a bag for carrying arrows.
Step 9: Belt and strap
Draw a belt across the waist, edge to edge. Draw a strap from the left shoulder down to the belt.
Step 10: Trousers
From under the tunic draw 2 trouser legs down to the ankles, with a gap between them.
Step 11: Shoes and ground
Under each leg draw a shoe with the toe pointing out. Add a long ground line under the shoes.
Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face, ears, neck and both hands peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Tan trousers, red feathers
Colour the trousers tan. Colour the cap feather and the 2 arrow feathers red.
Step 14: Green tunic, brown bow
Colour the cap and tunic green. Colour the bow, quiver, strap, belt and shoes brown. Go over your lines.
Tip Colour the green around the belt and the strap.
