How to Draw a Kick Sled
Draw a kick sled in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two long runners.
Step 1: Two long runners
Low down draw 2 long flat runners, one above the other. From the lower front, curl up into a hook.
Tip Kick sled runners are long and thin, like 2 skis.
Step 2: Posts and seat
From the lower runner draw 2 fat posts straight up, a hand apart. Draw a flat seat across their tops.
Step 3: Chair back and handle
From the seat draw 2 tall thin posts up. Add a handlebar across the tops and 2 slats between.
Step 4: Head and cap
Behind the chair, high up, draw a round head wearing a cap. Add 2 round eyes and a smile.
Step 5: Body and arm
Under the head draw a tall rounded coat. From the shoulder draw a bent arm, fist on the handlebar.
Step 6: Standing leg
From under the coat draw one leg down, narrower at the ankle, to a boot on the lower runner.
Step 7: Kicking leg
From under the coat draw the other leg swinging back, bent at the knee, with a boot kicking up behind.
Tip One foot rides, the other kicks the snow. That is how it goes!
Step 8: Snowy ground
Draw a ground line under the runners from edge to edge, with a soft snow mound at each end.
Step 9: Peach face, pink cheeks
Colour the face and fist peach with 2 rosy pink cheeks. Leave the eyes and the snow white.
Step 10: Red chair, grey runners
Go over your lines. Colour the seat, posts, chair back, handle and cap red. Colour the runners grey.
Step 11: Blue coat, navy trousers
Colour the coat and sleeve blue, both legs navy and the boots black. Off across the ice!
