How to Draw a Kentucky Flag
Draw a kentucky flag in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flag pole.
Step 1: The flag pole
On the left draw a tall thin pole from near the bottom to near the top. Add a ball.
Step 2: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Wave the top edge far out to the right, come down, wave back.
Tip Make the flag long and big. It has to hold a round seal.
Step 3: The round seal
In the middle of the flag draw a big circle. Draw a slightly smaller circle inside it.
Tip The 2 circles make a ring, like the rim of a plate. The real flag has words above the seal. Add them if you like.
Step 4: First friend
Inside the ring on the left draw a small round head. Under it draw a tall body and leg line.
Tip The body has round shoulders and a flat bottom. The short line up the middle makes 2 legs.
Step 5: Second friend
Draw the same friend on the right side of the ring. Leave a gap between them for their arms.
Step 6: Shaking hands
Draw a small oval between the friends. Join it to each body with a short arm. They shake hands!
Step 7: Flower spray
Under the seal draw a thin U shape, like a smile. Make it pointed at both ends.
Tip Keep the U the same distance from the ring all the way round.
Step 8: Golden flowers
Along the outside of the U draw 3 fat ovals on each side, like leaves pointing up and out.
Step 9: Ground line
Draw a long flat ground line under the pole, from the left side to the right side.
Step 10: Yellow ball, grey pole
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow and the pole grey.
Step 11: Golden seal
Colour the ring, the U and the 6 flowers yellow. Leave the inside of the ring white.
Step 12: Peach faces
Colour the 2 faces and the shaking hands peach.
Step 13: Brown and grey
Colour the left friend brown and the right friend dark grey, arms too.
Step 14: Dark blue flag
Colour the flag dark blue, around the seal and the flowers. Go over your lines and your flag is waving!
