How to Draw a VHS Tape
Draw a VHS tape in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cassette.
Step 1: The cassette
In the middle draw a big flat box with small rounded corners, about twice as wide as it is tall.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Below the middle draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each, with a shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile, with a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The window
Near the top of the box, in the middle, draw a wide box with rounded corners for the window.
Step 5: Two reels
Inside the window draw 2 round reels with a small circle in each. Join their bottoms with a straight line.
Step 6: The label
Along the bottom draw a long thin strip for the label, with a short line near its left end.
Step 7: Screws
Draw a tiny circle in each corner of the cassette for the screws.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw 2 sparkles in the air above the top corners of the cassette.
Step 9: The table
Draw a table line under the cassette, starting a little left of it and stopping a little past it.
Step 10: Yellow sparkles, pink cheeks
Colour the sparkles yellow and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Sky window, brown reels
Colour the window sky blue around the reels. Colour the reels brown, but leave their middles white.
Step 12: Slate cassette
Colour the cassette slate grey around the window and cheeks. Leave the label and eyes white. Ready to rewind!
