How to Draw a Kawaii Monkey

Draw a kawaii monkey in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round head.

Step 1: Round head
Near the top, draw a big round head, a little wider at the cheeks.
Tip Make the head wider than it is tall.
Step 2: Round ears
Halfway down each side of the head, draw a round ear. Add a smaller oval inside.
Tip Monkey ears stick out at the sides, not on top.
Step 3: Sparkly eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 round eyes, one eye apart. Colour them black, leaving white shines.
Tip Leave 2 white shines in each eye: one big, one small.
Step 4: Face patch
Around the eyes, draw a face patch with 2 round bumps on top. Add a tiny smile inside.
Tip Leave a rim of head all the way round the patch.
Step 5: Flick of hair
Start on top of the head. Draw a little flick of hair up to a point and back down.
Step 6: Small body
Under the head, draw a small pear body with a round bottom. Add an egg tummy inside.
Tip Keep the body narrower than the head.
Step 7: Bent arms
From under each cheek, draw an arm down and out to the elbow, then in to the tummy.
Tip The elbow is the corner that points out.
Step 8: Round hands
At the end of each arm, draw a round hand resting on the tummy.
Step 9: Little feet
At each bottom corner of the body, draw a round foot with a flat bottom and 2 toe lines.
Step 10: Curly tail
From behind the right foot, draw a long tail along the ground, up, and round into a curl.
Tip Let the tail get thinner towards the curl.
Step 11: Ground line
Start at the left. Draw a ground line under the feet and the tail. Stop at the right.
Step 12: Tan and pink
Add a pink oval on each cheek. Colour the face, ear middles, tummy, hands and feet tan around them.
Step 13: Brown fur
Colour the head, ears, hair, body, arms and tail brown, around the tan parts.
