14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a cat in a cup in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wide soft head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Wide soft head

Above the middle of your paper draw a wide soft head, like a bun.

Tip Leave room above for the ears and below for the cup.

  2. Step 2: Pointy ears

On each top corner of the head draw a tall pointy ear. Add a small triangle inside each one.

  3. Step 3: Big eyes

In the middle of the head draw 2 big oval eyes. Add black dots and white shines.

  4. Step 4: Nose and smile

Between the eyes, a little lower, draw a tiny triangle nose. From its point draw a W smile.

  5. Step 5: Whiskers

Start on each cheek. Draw 2 whiskers going out, away from the face.

Tip Keep them short and a little apart.

  6. Step 6: Cup rim

Draw a long flat oval behind the chin for the rim of the cup. It is wider than the head.

Tip The oval starts and stops on the head line.

  7. Step 7: Paws over the rim

Under each eye draw a mitten paw from the chin down over the rim. Add 2 toe lines.

Tip Rub out the rim and chin lines inside each paw.

  8. Step 8: Round cup

From the left end of the rim draw a deep bowl down, across and up to the right end.

Tip Make both sides of the bowl match.

  9. Step 9: Handle

On the right draw a fat C handle, from under the rim back to the cup lower down.

  10. Step 10: Saucer

Draw a big flat oval saucer behind the bottom of the cup. Rule a table line under it.

  11. Step 11: Curly tail

Start inside the rim on the left. Draw a fat tail out over the rim, curling up.

Tip Rub out the rim line inside the tail.

  12. Step 12: Cream and pink

Colour the 2 paws and the inside of the cup cream. Colour the nose and inside the ears pink.

  13. Step 13: Yellow cup, blue saucer

Colour the cup and its handle yellow, around the paws. Colour the saucer light blue.

  14. Step 14: Grey kitten

Colour the head, ears and tail grey, and the chest between the 2 paws. Leave the eyes white.
