How to Draw a Kawaii Lynx

Step 1: Wide soft head

In the middle of the page draw a big soft head, wider than it is tall.

Tip The head is the biggest part of a kawaii lynx.

Step 2: Tufted ears

On top draw 2 tall pointed ears. Add a line inside each and a thin tuft on each tip.

Tip The tufts are what make it a lynx.

Step 3: Big shiny eyes

On the head draw 2 big oval eyes. Inside each, colour a black oval, leaving a white shine.

Tip Leave a ring round each black oval.

Step 4: Nose and smile

Low between the eyes draw a small nose. Start under it and draw a w smile. Add 2 cheeks.

Tip Keep the nose small.

Step 5: Cheek ruffs

Under each cheek draw a ruff of 3 round fur bumps, pointing out and down.

Tip Each ruff starts and stops on the head.

Step 6: Front legs

Under the chin draw 2 legs side by side. End each in a big round paw with 2 toe lines.

Tip Leave a gap between the 2 paws.

Step 7: Back paws

Beside each front paw draw a big round back paw peeking out. Add 2 toe lines on each.

Tip The back paws sit flat, level with the front paws.

Step 8: Body sides

Start under each ruff. Draw a curve bowing out and down, and stop on top of the back paw.

Tip The body is narrower than the head.

Step 9: Bob tail and ground

On the right draw a stubby tail, starting and stopping on the body. Add a line across. Draw the ground.

Tip A lynx has a short tail, not a long one.

Step 10: Four spots

Draw 2 oval spots on each side of the body, between the front legs and the edge.

Tip 2 on the left, 2 on the right.

Step 11: Pink and yellow

Colour the nose, the 2 cheeks and the insides of the ears pink. Colour the eye rings yellow.

Step 12: Cream fur

Colour the 2 ruffs cream. Colour the tummy between the front legs cream too.

Step 13: Sandy coat

Colour the head, ears, body, legs, paws and tail sandy brown. Leave the spots, tufts and tail tip white.

Step 14: Brown and black

Colour the 4 spots brown. Colour the 2 ear tufts and the tail tip black.
